We actually started out in the enterprise sector. We were and still are allowed to implement projects with Sitecore for large corporations.
However, we noticed from many customer inquiries that the requirements were high, but Sitecore was simply too powerful for that. Another point to be added is that many companies have a different approach to a CMS/DXP and, for example, prefer an open-source system.
In order to be able to cover a broader range of customers in addition to the enterprise sector, a powerful open-source CMS was needed
For us, the following criteria were at the forefront of our choice:
With Umbraco, we found a solution that met all of our requirements (and more).
Since Umbraco is based on Microsoft technology, it has a major advantage over systems based on PHP. You always have a strong company in the background that closes security gaps and constantly develops the technology. You don't have that with a PHP CMS, for example. Also, almost no plugins are used. This is more intensive to implement, but it makes you less dependent on third-party providers and therefore also has fewer security risks.
The be-all and end-all of any CMS is how easy it is for editors to use. Umbraco has managed to make the back office really intuitive to use. The workflows are easy to use without having to complete hours of training beforehand.
The growing trend to improve the customer experience on websites requires a CMS system that has integrated marketing tools or can be expanded to include them. The uMarketingSuite adds a powerful marketing tool to the Umbraco CMS. This makes integrated analysis, A/B testing, personalization, profiling and marketing automation possible.
The following graphic shows where the CMS is positioned with the uMarketingSuite and is moving further and further towards the enterprise:
By the way: We are also an official uMarketingSuite partner! More information can be found in theuMarketingSuite blog post.
Umbraco is very lean and performs well. This is due, among other things, to the low use of third-party plugins.
If the aim is to ensure that the website remains fast even when traffic is high and the site is business-critical, Umbraco can be scaled very easily. This means that the load of the website is distributed across multiple servers using load balancers, thus ensuring a very high level of reliability.
Especially in the enterprise sector, it is important for customers to receive 24/7 support. Umbraco bridges the gap between a pure open source and an enterprise solution. Since, unlike most open-source CMS providers, it is not just a community behind it, but a company of its own, support can be obtained in this case for a fee.
Especially when it comes to business-critical topics on the website, it is not enough to hope that the community will fix the core system as quickly as possible in the event of an error.
With the support purchased, on the other hand, the error is fixed as soon as possible to minimize such damage
The Umbraco developer community now has 222,000 members worldwide. That is three times as many as the Typo3 community. A large community inevitably leads to the system's innovation being driven forward quickly.
In order to serve as many touchpoints as possible, the trend is moving strongly towards centralized content management. The various channels as customer interfaces are managed centrally.
This is made possible by the use of a headless CMS. As the name suggests, a content management solution without a “head”. The “heads” are then, for example, a front-end application, an app or a social media channel on which the centrally managed content is served.
We are convinced of the benefits of this CMS and also see the potential for this system to continue to develop magnificently.
This is why we are training our developers specifically for this system. Umbraco offers a wide range of training courses in all areas related to the CMS.
As we wanted to intensify this cooperation, we have now entered into a partnership and can proudly call ourselves "Certified Umbraco Partner".
This partnership not only means that our employees are trained in this system. Customers who choose this system also receive a discount on paid services, such as hosting in the Umbraco Cloud.
Customers can also be assured that we are always at the cutting edge of technology.
